don’t hate the b-sprout…
Today I’d like to show a little love for the often despised Brussel Sprout. If you’ve been getting your Omega-3, you might remember that Brussel Sprouts are in the family Brassica, along with Arugula and Broccoli. To be honest, I don’t know why Brussel Sprouts are so mercilessly rejected in this country - not only are they loaded with vitamins and anti-cancer properties, but they’re also incredibly cute in their mini-cabbage packages…just look at them!

BRAISED BRUSSEL SPROUTS in a CREAMY MARSALA SAUCE.
Ingredients: (2 Servings)
8 brussel sprouts
8 baby white onions
1 cup consomme
2 tbs heavy cream
2 tbs marsala wine
1 tsp sugar
Salt & fresh pepper to taste
Cut stems of brussel sprouts and peel the onions. For faster cooking, slice an “X” on the bottoms of the brussel sprouts (or a “K” if you like Kaka, or if a “Z” if your name is Zorro). Put all ingredients in a sauce pan with lid. Let simmer until sauce is reduced or until vegetables are very tender.
(Do it…do it…alright?)
