guac guac!
Requested by the lovely Tina, I dug up a photo I took a few months ago at our house-warming shindig. The guacamole looks kind of unappetizing here, but it was obviously very tasty. Amendments have been made (I underestimated the power of Serrano chilies, my mouth was on fire!), but the ingredients you throw in it is pretty much up to you. You can’t go wrong with guac now, can you?

YOUR CLASSIC GUACAMOLE.
Ingredients:
3 ripe Hass avocados
2-3 cloves garlic
1 jalapeno, stemmed
1 serrano chili, stemmed
1 plum tomato, chopped and seeded
1 red onion
½ cup cilantro, chopped
1-2 limes (juice)
About 1 tsp coarse sea salt; fresh pepper to taste
Put the garlic, chilis, and onion in a food processor - or chop very finely. Add diced tomato, avocados, and cilantro. Finish with juice of lime, salt, and pepper.

It’s not always rainbows and hula-hooping in Kakaland - even in the baking department. I got a little out of control yesterday, which resulted in the weirdest muffin ever: a “Miso & Peanut Butter Muffin with Berries”. I have never been so deathly afraid of my own muffins. Although, to be fair, Pitchfork would’ve given it an 8.5 - it’s a muffin that works in theory, like a tragically “hip” indie-rock band. Or Björk. (I’d take Britney over Björk, any day.)

BJORK-ESQUE MISO & PEANUT BUTTER MUFFIN with BERRIES.
(Recipe withheld for your sake. I mean, it looks good, right? Kind of? Yes, no…?)

Incidentally, a band that consistently scores an 8.5 or above on Pitchfork:
