finding comfort in mushy.
It’s cold, wet, and our Direct TV receiver is down in the main room. It would be tragic if I don’t get my daily dose of Matt (Lauer) tomorrow morning - I might even have to stay in bed.
You know what would help? Jumping into a tub of warm mush. Or the Sox winning another World Series game…by a dozen. I love the sound of that: a dozen. It appeals to the baker in me.

FENNEL TUB OF WARM MUSH.
Ingredients: (3 ramekins)
2 cups fennel
1 cup vegetable stock
1 egg
2 tbs all-purpose flour
¼ cup half and half
¼ cup glutinous yam (Nagaimo), grated
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp BP
½ tsp cream of tartar
½ tsp salt
Boil chopped fennel in vegetable stock for about 10 min, or until liquid is gone; transfer to food processor and puree. With a hand-mixer, mix the fennel, flour, egg, nagaimo, and cream, until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients, mix, and pour into ramekins. Bake in water bath for 60min at 300F.

The Shins were great last night, thanks for asking. Hubby and I have seen them on separate occasions back around ‘05 or so, and we both agree that they sound more polished. They also seem to have found a new group of pre-pubescent fans.
