Well, I’m back and cajuned-out from our New Orleans weekend - four glorious days of gumbo and Abita’s galore. Not to mention the Po’ boys, the jumbo shrimp, the oysters, the blackened drum fish, the seafood etouffee, the beignets, banana rum cake, and other artery-clogging culinary miracles…..
Needless to say, the Rosenthals are nice ‘n plump, just in time for the holidays. Time to open that bag of Gator-Tators! Super…
I told McSpacey I reminded myself of a “fat ballerina” - his response (5 minutes later as usual) was “huh? no, you don’t look like a pregnant astronaut“. Am I right to take offense in this?

The morning after the Red Sox made it to the World Series, Debby called to suggest that I make a celebratory Red Sox muffin - and everyone knows you’re supposed to listen to your mother-in-law. Anyway, how could I pass up a chance to make some freakishly red frosting? Goooo Sox!
P.S. I was walking home from the subway yesterday, when a man sitting on the sidewalk looked up at me and said…….”NI HAO”! Again! And no, I was not hearing things in my head, because he repeated himself with a “ni hao ma“. Ha! Gave him a nasty glare, but I was only cracking up inside and wondering what the heck was wrong with me (ie, is it my bangs?)…
